I am not sure what to do with it once it’s full. I have been collecting my blood for a year and a half, and I would like to keep it. But, I am terrified of something happening and it breaking. I would be lying if I said I weren’t attached to it.
What do you think, Tumblr?
since it’s blowing up, here’s the original post.
yes, it’s real. no, she didn’t ‘wring out tampons’, she a menstrual cup to collect it. no, menstrual blood isn’t dirty, it’s the same as regular blood [if not cleaner, as the vagina is self-cleaning, acidic, and antibacterial], and blood is only dangerous if it has diseases. yes, she made cookies with it. no, we don’t know who they were for. no, it’s not rotten, she keeps it cold, and menstrual blood only smells if exposed to the air for too long.
honestly, i don’t know why people are finding this SO gross. believe it or not, there are heaps of people who use their blood, menstrual or otherwise, as something other than waste. i regularly water my houseplants with diluted menstrual blood [not an uncommon practice] and lots of people use it in art. like, blood is a food product, anyone who eats meat consumed preserved blood regularly. if she’s sanitary about it, really, is it that big a deal? i bet that jar is more sterile than most dollar bills and doorknobs we handle.
